20 May 2015, element14 has announced the addition of the Texas Instruments(TI) MSP-EXP430FR6989 LaunchPad Kit to its extensive portfolio of technology products, which includes the largest range of development kits available globally from one single source.
An easy-to-use Evaluation Module (EVM) for the ultra-low power MSP430FR6989 FRAM microcontroller (MCU), the MSP-EXP430FR6989 LaunchPad Development Kit includes on-board emulation for programming, debugging and energy measurements as well as a 320-segment Liquid Crystal Display (LCD).

The MSP430FR6989 microcontroller features ultra-low-power consumption with 128 KB of embedded FRAM (Ferroelectric Random Access Memory), delivering high endurance and high speed write access. It also comes with demo examples including a stopwatch and a simple thermometer application using the on-chip temperature sensor. Free software development tools are also available, such as TI’s Eclipse-based Code Composer Studio (CCS) integrated development environment (IDE) and IAR Embedded Workbench.
