Product Description:
The SparkFun QRE1113 Line Sensor Breakout (Analog) is a compact and reliable infrared (IR) reflectance sensor board designed for line detection and surface sensing applications. It’s ideal for robot line-following, edge detection, and surface reflectivity measurement.
This board works with both 3.3V and 5V systems, making it compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. The onboard QRE1113 IR sensor combines an IR LED emitter and a phototransistor detector to sense reflected IR light from a surface.
The sensor outputs an analog voltage that varies depending on the reflectivity of the surface — darker surfaces reflect less light, producing a lower output voltage.
Features:
-
Analog output varies with reflected IR intensity
-
Works with 3.3V and 5V systems
-
No-contact surface sensing
-
Compact design suitable for line-following robots
-
Onboard 100Ω resistor for LED current limiting
-
10kΩ pull-up resistor on output pin
-
Easy to interface with Arduino or microcontrollers
